Catherine Frey, Executive Director

Catherine Frey joined NMAG as the Executive Director in May 2014. She has an extensive background working with non-profits, foundations and state and local government to promote healthy and equitable communities. She previously worked for the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, where she was responsible for grants, special funding initiatives, program planning and evaluation for an internal foundation with assets of over $300 million. Catherine has a MPA and MSPH from University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Minnesota respectively.
Catherine is committed to social change strategies that respect local expertise and build capacity through collaboration and community empowerment. In working with non-profits and grantmakers of all sizes, she understands that organizational collaboration and multi-sector partnerships have enormous potential for greater social impact. Catherine is an active community supporter and has served on the board of numerous government committees, local non-profit organizations, and community advisory boards.
