BoardSource
Provides online governance consultants, as well as tools and materials on nonprofit governance. Formerly the National Center for Nonprofit Boards (NCNB).

Center for Nonprofit Excellence
The Center for Nonprofit Excellence is a nonprofit resource center; a collaboration of the United Way of Central New Mexico’s Corporate Cornerstone companies and the Albuquerque Community Foundation. We strengthen nonprofits. Trainings address effective financial management, board development, fundraising, and leadership. We offer Executive Director Leadership Circles, a Fundraising Mentorship program, and the Emerging Nonprofit Leadership Network. Free online resources include the New Mexico Grantmakers Directory, Board training, and financial management toolkits.

CharityChannel
A volunteer-driven on-line community of voluntary-sector professionals. Today the on-line community consists of more than 100,000 participants, with nearly 35,000 direct subscriptions to our forums and eNewsletters.

Chronicle of Philanthropy
The Chronicle of Philanthropy is the newspaper of the nonprofit world. It is the No. 1 news source, in print and online, for charity leaders, fundraisers, grant makers, and other people involved in the philanthropic enterprise. A subscription includes full access to the Web site and news updates by e-mail -- all at no extra charge. The Web site offers the complete contents of the latest issue, an archive of past issues and articles published since October 1997, and two issues' worth of the most recent grant listings -- all fully searchable.

The Foundation Center
Houses several online directories to foundations and provides online courses in grantwriting and grantseeking.

The Grantsmanship Center
The Grantsmanship Center (TGCI) was founded in 1972 to offer grantsmanship training and low-cost publications to nonprofit organizations and government agencies. TGCI's Grantsmanship Training Program covers all aspects of researching grants, writing grant proposals and negotiating with funding sources. The Grantsmanship Center Magazine is mailed free of charge to staff of nonprofit organizations and government agencies at their office address. TGCI also posts each day's federal register grant announcements on its Web site.

Guidestar
Guidestar lists financial information for more than 850,000 nonprofits nationwide. An excellent resource for legal and financial data. You can use Guidestar for research, and you can also update your organization's entry, increasing exposure for your organization.

Idealist.org
Idealist.org has built the leading nonprofit job site in the country. In addition to jobs, you can also list events, volunteer opportunities and internships, and at http://www.idealist.org/consultants you can find the most comprehensive directory of nonprofit consultants on the Web.

National Council of Nonprofit Associations
NCNA is a membership-based organization of state and regional associations that represent thousands of nonprofits throughout the country. Our members work at the state and local level to provide training and technical assistance to improve the operations and effectiveness of organizations while promoting the value and accountability of the nonprofit sector.

Network for Good
At Network for Good people can find volunteer opportunities, and they can also make donations to hundreds of thousands of nonprofits. Most importantly, you can use this site to add a free Donate button to your Web site. The organization's goal is to connect people to charities via the Internet. Also known as helping.org.

New Mexico State Library
The New Mexico State Library has maintained a Foundation Center cooperating collection since 1975. The Collection is open to the public 9:00 - 5:00 Monday through Friday at 1209 Camino Carlos Rey in Santa Fe. The Collection concentrates on funding from private foundations for non-profit organizations. The State Library augments these materials with local publications when available, as well as information on corporate giving, charities, fund-raising techniques and proposal writing. Information is also available on Federal grants. Circulating copies of some how-to-do-it materials are available. The Reference staff is very knowledgeable and will assist you in starting your research.

Nonprofit Genie
Provides "at your service" links and answers to nonprofit FAQ's (frequently asked questions).

Nonprofit Good Practice Guide
The Nonprofit Good Practice Guide, captures and organizes good practices to assist nonprofits in improving their efficiency and effectiveness. The Guide, with ten topic areas, is designed as a resource directory and capacity building tool for new nonprofit managers. The Guide is a project of the Philanthropic and Nonprofit Knowledge Management Initiative at the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership.

Nonprofit Online News
Michael Gilbert maintains an internationally respected site with daily news updates bridging the online and nonprofit worlds. You can read the news there, or you can subscribe for weekly email updates.

N-TEN
The Nonprofit Technology Enterprise Network (N-TEN) helps nonprofits make more effective use of technology to advance their missions. N-TEN supports the people who provide technology services to the nonprofit sector by creating opportunities to identify peers and develop professional support networks, share information and resources, and work together on a range of projects.

ServiceLeader
ServiceLeader covers every aspect of volunteer management, from screening, matching, record-keeping and evaluation, to legal issues, risk management and virtual volunteering. ServiceLeader.org is a project of the RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs of the University of Texas at Austin.
